A letter that made my week

Last week, I got to my day job one day to find a card from a co-worker who I’d done a few small freelance jobs for here and there. We’d met a few times to discuss work she wanted me to do on her women’s group’s website, but I hadn’t started anything yet. Partly it was due to the fact that I didn’t have any content to start with, but I was also waiting for the remainder of the payment on a small logo revamp project. Since I hadn’t heard anything about the site in a few months and found out the group wasn’t going to be using the logo, I was afraid that my work with them was going to go the same way it did with this guy.

However, the card I got last week completely floored me. Not only did it include the remaining payment that they owed me, but it expressed how much they appreciated the work I did for them. While they said that they were going to go with someone else for the website because they had a friend that could do it for free, they did mention other things that they wanted to continue to work with me on. All three of the group’s founding members signed it and the fact that they let me know what was going on in such a graceful manner ensures that I will always make room in my schedule for them no matter what my other work load is like.
